The Juventus Cycling Club is again hosting this event in an effort to promote youth cycling in Alberta. Alex Stieda has offered his name to this event and continues to work hard preparing our young Edmonton area athletes. Please consider placing a donation during registration to help us continue to support youth cycling in all disciplines and ability levels.
We are hosting two separate standalone events. Each event category will be prized at least three deep. The criterium will be a points race.
Juventus Cycling supports youth cycling. Through our development programs, we consistently place road, track, mountain, and cyclocross riders on provincial and national teams. Donations received will help cover athlete costs to compete at BC Youth Provincials and Junior Track Cycling Worlds. Please consider placing a donation to help these young athletes chase their dreams in our Zone 4 registration page.
As always review the ABA/CC/UCI regulations found on the ABA website. Here’s some quick links related to the road.
“Wheel cars will be wheels in wheels out unless the car is full where then it will become neutral.” See the 2017 rule changes for additional information.
According to 2017’s regulation changes, Women’s races will continue to be broken down into 1/2/3 & 4/5. Category 3 women must race with the 1/2 group.
Disc brakes are permitted.
Each racer is assigned a Race Number to be used throughout the year. All racers that have already acquired their number must use it for this race. Failing to bring your personal race number to this event will result in a fine of $10 (CASH) to help cover the cost of a replacement number. There are no exceptions to this rule. Make sure to check that you have your numbers well before your start time.
Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated, including but not limited to public urination, littering, use of profane language and verbal abuse of officials.
The ABA complies with and fully supports the UCI anti-doping regulations, the clauses of the World Anti-Doping Code and its international standards to which the UCI anti-doping regulations refer and to the anti-doping regulations of other competent bodies as per the regulations of the UCI.
